 While not a big fan on Civil War, I have grown rather fond of the Iron Spider design. I also saw quite a few mods of the costume and thought it would be interesting to make one of my own for the Civil War event. I wanted to pose it in such a way that the arms were more in motion and more part of the sculpt than many that I've seen. The figure was partly inspired by my Wildstorm Captain Atom figure, a project that first caused me to buy some gold paint.
I made a few, small alterations to the costume towards design elements I liked better. The head and torso are from Sinister Spider-Man, the legs and arms are all to some extent from Speedy, hands from Paladin and Armor Wars Spider-Man and feet from Sunfire. The bit of roof is from Speedy as well.
