About me and my pages

1st: Yes, it's under construction. Every page on the web is.
2nd: Yes, it's graphically uninteresting for now. Then again, it's easier on your client and net-connection that way...but maybe I'm just making excuses...
3rd: Who am I?
I'm Jailbait. The original. Accept no substitutes. I've been using the name since January, 1983 in Real Life, and on the nets since 1987. As I find pages belonging to other people using the name, I'll mention them here. (I know of 3-5 others who use the nickname on IRC, but they're not me. Don't be confused.)
4th: What do I do?
I'm a sysadmin. After 9+ years in the DC area (working for various defunct companies (NO Causality, thank you very much) and as a contractor) I'm now up in the Boston area, first working for The Company Formerly known as The LeftBank Operation, then as a contractor again, and then at Akamai, which I loved, up til the last management change, and then the layoffs of 10/16/02. I'm doing the contract thing again. At Permabit right now. After that? Who knows...
5th: What's my real name?
Unimportant. You're not going to use it unless you're a) difficult or b) someone who's known me since High School or before. Call me JB.
6th: What else do I do?
Well, if you look at my home-page , you'll notice that the catagories listed may give a bit of a clue...or maybe they won't, as there's not much there...but there are various clues about.
7th: What do I look like?
Well, for a particularly nice example, check this out.
8th: Will there ever be anything particularly different and exciting here?
Hopefully. I want to put together a good Gong page , or something similar. I'm still on a quest for the right project/motivation. How To Eat Food might become worthwhile eventually, though it's essentially worthless at the moment.
9th: What's an elboid?
I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you. Or maybe it's sleep with you...
10th: LJ?
...jbsegal...

And because I was very distressed to discover that there is no mention of him anyplace in Indexed WebSpace, I would like to take this opportunity to mention Robert Zeus Finkelstein. He was a Good Man, and my favorite teacher of all time, and I still miss him these many years later.

If you knew him, please send me mail so I know there are others out there who remember him. I may take nearly forever to get back to you, because that's just how I am, but do it anyway...
